The Hardware Budget Calculator Program on this page is not really
a software application. You will need the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
program to use it. It may work with other spreadsheet programs as
well but was developed as an Excel file. If you have Internet Explorer
4.1 or greater, you may be able to use the application by simply
filling in the fields below. If you do not see the spreadsheet,
you may download the files below by using a right click, "save
target as".
If you can see the spreadsheet above, enter the number of treatment
rooms in box D-6. Click this box, type in the number then hit
enter or click the green checkmark at the top of the page.
NOTE: all boxes where data can be entered are colored gray.
Next enter the number of front desk stations in box D-8.
Click this box type in the number then hit enter or click the green
checkmark at the top of the page.
Using the same procedure enter the number of computers planned
for the Dr. Office (Box D-10) and Consultation room
(Box D-12)
Next enter the number of printers you need. Laser printers
go in box D-18 (Most offices will have one) Inkjet printers
go in box D-20
Next enter any options you may want. If you want to use
Flat Panels in the treatment rooms enter 1 in box I-8. If
you want to use Flat panel touch screens enter 1 in box I-14.
Do not enter 1 in both boxes choose one or the other.
The next option is Image Capture. If you want to use the
computer in the treatment room to capture and display patient photos
enter the number of computers you want to use in box I-20.
The final option relates to network size. You do not need to make
any entries here the program will analyze your needs and make an
appropriate entry.
Your final budget will be displayed in box F-27. This number is
an estimate only. Your actual costs will vary. This does not constitute
